Kids thanked their Grandpas and Grandmas for their love and support
Grandparents hold a special place in everyone’s heart. Many of us still look for their advice when in trouble. Their bed-time stories are an integral part of a child’s growing years. In honour of the grandparents, Sesame Street Preschool, celebrated the Grandparents Day. On the occasion children, in their own special way, thanked the grandparents for their love and support.
The guests of honour- the grandparents, were welcomed with attractive and colourful cards made by their grandchildren especially for them. The special day was filled with dance and song performances by the kids. Children recited rhymes and danced on Galli Galli Sim Sim (GGSS) songs. The GGSS songs on healthy living and exercise and ‘I love you Grandpa and Grandma’ was a hit amongst both the elderlies and the tiny tots. After some fun filled performances, grandparents and children played puzzles and games. Special puzzles with the photos of the child and his/her grandparents were custom made for the special day. At the end, creative handouts painted by the kids were gifted to the oldies to take with themselves as memoirs.
Ms. Mona Singh, Vice President, Sesame Schoolhouse, shares, “With the shrinking size of families, grandparents are often missed the most by children. It is important to sensitize kids about the role of grandparents in one’s life and teach them about respecting and taking care of them in their old age. Sesame Street Preschools lay emphasis on the emotional bonding of children with their family members and hence this special day was organized to strengthen the unique bond between kids and their grandparents. The day filled with fun and frolic was appreciated by the elderlies who abundantly enjoyed with their little ones.”
Sesame Street Preschools go beyond ABCs and 123s to instil the skills of ideation, confidence, communication and collaboration – skills that are needed not just for school but for life. Such special days and events allow each child to foster imagination, creativity, communication and collaboration. The curriculum of Sesame Street Preschools is based on over 45 years of research on how children learn, what engages them, and most importantly what ignites their desire to learn so that it becomes a lifelong habit. To nurture hungry minds, the school brings together highly trained teachers, fun, collaborative projects, and a colourful environment that activates learning- enlivened by the lovable characters of Galli Galli Sim Sim. Sesame Street Preschool aims to change the paradigm in the preschool space by making high quality education, teaching standards and learning spaces accessible to Indian children.
