The Grover’s Health Café is a showcase of one of the unique ways children are taught at Sesame Street Preschool. This is a regular activity where kids are encouraged not just to eat healthy food but also taught about basic table etiquettes and hygiene, making healthy choices, sharing food, eating postures, etc. A restaurant style set up is arranged in the school and educators dressed as chefs welcome kids to the restaurant. The food comprising of healthy, delicious dishes are offered to kids as part of the menu. Kids then choose their dishes from the menu which encourages them to develop a habit of identifying healthy food. Towards the end of the activity kids also pay for their food using the play money which teaches them about financial literacy.
On this weekend, Sesame Street Preschool will be creating the same Grover’s Café in the colonies of Pimple Saudagar where kids can come and enjoy the fun of cooking and eating healthy, yummy food. Apart from healthy snacks, many other exciting activities have also been planned like parachute making and weaving. The educators will demonstrate basic weaving techniques showing kids how to move the pieces of yarn, ribbon and fabric to weave together beautifully decorated fabrics.
