Wish everybody Eid Mubarak!
Sesame Street Preschool in Bhagwat Nagar, Patna today celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr as kids dressed in colourful outfits participated in various activities organized for the special day. Teachers explained them about the importance of Ramzan and how Eid is celebrated. Kids decorated the school with moon and stars to mark the occasion. They created beautiful hangings as takeaways for their parents. The best time for them was the celebratory lunch where they shared delicious Sevaiyan- a festive dish especially prepared for Eid.
Ms. Mona Singh, Vice President, Sesame Schoolhouse, shares, “Sesame Street has always believed in celebrating all major festivals. Such celebrations are not just fun filled activities planned for kids, they also teach them basic habits like sharing and caring. These merriments tickle the child’s brain and trigger them to think and question about the reasons we celebrate various occasions. Kids are especially interested in the story behind each festival and the significance of celebrating it! Eid is all about sharing love and we were happy to see the bonding of children with their friends and teachers as they wished each other Eid Mubarak.”
Preschools are the early education centres and children pick up a lot from here. Celebrating all major festivals helps children understand the cultural diversity of India and teaches them to be open minded and secular towards every religion and community.
The curriculum of Sesame Street Preschools is based on over 45 years of research on how children learn, what engages them, and most importantly what ignites their desire to learn so that it becomes a lifelong habit. It goes beyond ABCs and 123s to instil the skills of ideation, confidence, communication and collaboration – skills that are needed not just for school but for life. The teaching methodology integrates hands-on project based learning, with creative approaches to foster imagination, creativity, communication and collaboration. To nurture hungry minds, the school brings together highly trained teachers, fun, collaborative projects, and a colourful environment that activates learning- enlivened by the lovable characters of Galli Galli Sim Sim. Sesame Street Preschool aims to change the paradigm in the preschool space by making high quality education, teaching standards and learning spaces accessible to Indian children.
